And...we come out of hiding!

We have unearthed ourselves from the baby gear (ok that is a big fat lie, we are still slaves to baby items) but we like to pretend that we are back participating in the real world. Tim has returned to work and believe it or not the little lady is now 6 weeks old! What a big girl!
From the time she got here until now it has been a whirlwind of family and friends and new experiences. We met Auntie Mia...
And Auntie Brie....
We met grandparents.....and great grandparents (and we are still waiting on the family pictures from Bina's camera!! Hurry up and send them so I can add some to this blog!!)
We hung on tight to Da.....
and we have stared into Daddy's eyes almost every night.

We hang out with...._________ <----fill in "grandma" name here
and we just chill in our newsboy hat!
I told you, lots of staring...on parent't and children's parts alike!

It has been an absolutely amazing month as we look back. A month ago we would not have said the same I am sure! We are, like everyone else, so in love with her and can't remember her not being here.

Kyla has also already hung out with cousin Hayden and Cali twice already and we cannot wait to do it again! Those two will surely be trouble!

In the months to come we hope to keep meeting all of our family and friends, but we cannot wait until October when we get the chance to meet the Kaufman side of the family. Until then, keep checking back here. There are tons more pictures with all sorts of people, but Kyla has een keeping us busy. We promise to get them up soon.

Lots of love!!

Clearly I have been slacking!

Not like my sisters have been updating either though....... :-P

SO here we are at 36+ weeks and counting down to D-day! Tim and I are getting so excited to meet this little one. Here is an updated picture.

I also had my friend Danielle take a few maternity photos as a surprise for Tim and baby. I thought it would be nice. You can take a look at some of the "sneak peaks" here. PHOTOS

She is just starting to do some photography and editing and wanted some practice so I offered! Her work is awesome so far. I cannot wait to see the rest.

Otherwise, we have started weekly check ins with the doctor. As of yesterday, everything looks great, baby is doing well and we have zero progress which is good as of right now as baby would still be a tiny bit on the early side if they showed now!

We are super super excited about getting so close and cannot wait for baby Figgy to get here so we can introduce them to our crazy families! If you haven't already filed a guess as to what and when baby Figgy will make its appearance you can guess at this website.

I promise to update you all much sooner than last time! Sorry for the delay! Also, the nursery is coming along so I will get updated pictures up hopefully this weekend. Check back soon!

Mostly pictures!

So here we are, at 29 weeks. Tim and I spent most of last week and weekend getting the nursery initially painted and assembled. There are still a bunch of details and pieces missing but I figured I would update as we go..... so, without further ado.....Figgy's room to be!

Had to incorporate Pooh bear in here somehow! So, Figgy gets a Winnie the Pooh quote...

Kida thinks we are crazy! (He might be right)

Some of the before and in progress pictures.

AND.....a bonus picture. This was after a delicious dinner out for a friend's 40th birthday!

You will get an actual post and update in a matter of hours. But for now, hopefully this tides you over!

Love,
Us

25 weeks

How far along: 25 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: +1lb

Maternity clothes: Absolutely

Stretch marks: No

Sleep: Sleep? What is this sleep thing you speak of? 2:30 am is NOT my friend right now.

Best moment this week: Not sure this week. Nothing really significant to speak of. I'll have to think on this one!

Movement: Absolutely! This little Fig Newton (Figgy) is a gymanst! Holy tumbling Batman!

Food Cravings: Fruit!! mmmmm yummy!

Food Aversions: Nah, just picky about what I am in the mood for.

Gender: I'm leaning towards girl, not sure why though.

Belly Button: still in but flattening out.

What I miss: a solid nights sleep....but I am guessing I am going to be missing this for a very long time!

What I am looking forward to: Beginning to work on the "nursery" We have a crib (THANKS MEME AND PAPI!!!) and we bought some units that are 9 cubes that form a square or rectangle. We got two tall ones and one short. They screw together to become a wall unit and little fabric drawers slide in. This way, when baby gets old enough to have fun pulling stuff off the shelves they are soft, not hard drawers and we don't have to worry! Although, the mess will be something else.

Weekly Wisdom: It is amazing how significantly worse the annoying administrator is when you are sleep deprived. He really is super obnoxious. I have mental daydreams of poking him in the eyes a la three stooges.

Milestones: Making it past 24 weeks. In a very weird approach to thinking many women (especially those of us who have to work so dilligently to even get pregnant) just await getting to 24 weeks. Although absolutely not ideal, doctors associate 24 weeks with viability. If for some horrible reason baby was born after 24 weeks, it is generally thought that baby's prognosis for survival is high. Before 24 weeks, doctors generally do not believe that a baby would be able to be supported outside of it's mother. We are obviously keeping baby in as long as possible, but it is reassuring to get to 24 weeks.

We are starting to set up the nursery finally. Looks like painting is in our near future. I'll be sure to post pictures of the nursery progress as it moves along.

Love you guys!
